This is My Story.

My journey into this work began with a moment that divided my life into a before and an after. At twenty-five, I suffered a grand mal seizure that caused a traumatic brain injury and near-death experience. In the space between one world and the next, I was met by divine beings—some appearing in forms my consciousness recognized, others simply as light—and a love I still don’t have words for. I was shown my purpose, the work I was being sent back to do, and how I was meant to use the gifts of sight, healing, and knowing in service of others. When I returned to my body, I was blind and deaf. Within days, paralysis began moving through my body, eventually taking over my entire right side for more than a year. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and epilepsy, placed on antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and immunotherapy (mild chemotherapy), and at twenty-five years old, told to prepare for the possibility that my life could end within the next eight to ten years.

And yet, what appeared to be the destruction of my life became the beginning of an entirely different one. My near-death experience had opened something within my consciousness. I began seeing energy—both light and dark—spirits, visions, and beings I couldn’t explain. With a background in biology and psychology and very little relationship with spirituality at the time, I assumed I was dissociating and chalked everything up to brain damage. But as medical tests continued to leave me with more questions than answers and my body continued to deteriorate, I became willing to look somewhere I normally never would have. A family member suggested Reiki, and despite my skepticism, I tried it. During that first session, the same energies and beings that had once terrified me began appearing again, only this time they weren’t chaotic. It was as though the scattered pieces of a puzzle were finally being placed where they belonged. For the first time, I understood my experiences not as my consciousness breaking down, but as my awareness opening to something beyond the physical world.

That experience sent me on a journey into Reiki, tarot, meditation, yoga, energy, consciousness, and holistic healing. As my understanding deepened, so did my awareness of the relationship between our thoughts, beliefs, energy, consciousness, and physical experience. I began applying what I was learning to my own healing, changing the way I thought, the way I spoke to my body, and what I believed was possible for my future. My body changed alongside me. The paralysis lifted, the seizures stopped, I came off medications I had once been told I would depend upon indefinitely, and the future I had been told to prepare for never became my reality. What I once believed had destroyed my life became the greatest initiation of it—and showed me firsthand just how powerful consciousness, belief, and our relationship with ourselves can be in transforming the lives we experience.

For more than eight years, that awakening has led me deeper into the work I was shown I would one day do—from tarot and intuitive development to Reiki, energy healing, spiritual study, shamanic apprenticeship, teaching, and eventually becoming a Reiki Grand Master. That calling became Astralis Healing: a space devoted to helping others reconnect with their own energy, intuition, higher consciousness, and the deeper knowing within themselves. I don’t expect you to believe everything I believe. I simply invite you to become curious about what might be possible for you—because perhaps you didn’t find your way here to become someone new. Perhaps you’re here because you’re finally ready to remember who you have always been.
